Peru Wonders 7 Days – Machu Picchu, Picnic Lunch with Llamas & Rainbow Mountain by ATV

Welcome to Peru! We know how exhausting international flights can be, so upon your arrival in the Peruvian capital, we will make your arrival as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you at Lima Airport, holding a sign with your name, to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your selected hotel.

After checking in, you can take time to relax, enjoy a refreshing shower, and recover from your journey. If you prefer, you may also explore nearby areas or enjoy Peru’s renowned gastronomy at your hotel or at one of the many local restaurants. Meals are not included on this day.

Depending on your arrival time, you also have the option to join the Lima City Tour, available daily at 8:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

During the tour, you will explore three stages of Lima’s history: Ancestral, Colonial, and Modern Lima. Highlights include a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, the Historic Center of Lima with its impressive colonial architecture, the San Francisco Convent and Catacombs, and the modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores.

The tour also includes a visit to the Central Reserve Bank Museum, where you can admire a collection of pre-Columbian gold, ceramics, and textiles.

Note: The Central Reserve Bank Museum is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

If you prefer not to join the City Tour, you can explore Lima at your own pace by visiting Miraflores, one of the city’s most popular tourist districts. You may enjoy a walk through Kennedy Park or visit Larcomar, located along the Pacific coast.

In the evening, we recommend enjoying dinner at Central or Maido. Due to high demand, advance reservations are highly recommended.

Between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Lima and begin our journey south to Paracas.

Upon arrival in Paracas, we will head to the El Chaco pier to board a modern speedboat for an excursion to the Ballestas Islands, located in Paracas Bay.

During the tour, you will enjoy spectacular coastal scenery and observe a great variety of marine wildlife, including sea lions, Humboldt penguins, flamingos, parihuanas, and numerous seabirds.

Along the way, you will also see the famous Candelabra geoglyph carved into the hillside while your guide explains the different theories surrounding its origin. The boat tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

After the excursion, we will continue to the city of Ica, where you will have free time for lunch. Lunch is not included.

Later, we will visit the Noelia Chocolate Factory to taste traditional local products such as chocotejas, alfajores, jams, artisanal cookies, filled mousse, and more.

In the afternoon, we will explore the beautiful Huacachina Oasis, a natural lagoon surrounded by impressive sand dunes.

Here, you will enjoy an exciting dune buggy ride and sandboarding experience across the desert, as well as free time to walk around the oasis and take unforgettable photographs.

Before returning to Lima, we will visit a local winery where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the region’s traditional products, including wines, piscos, pisco creams, macerates, and mistelas.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., we will begin our return journey to Lima. Upon arrival at around 10:00 p.m., our team will transfer you to your selected hotel.

Today, your adventure in the Andean highlands begins.

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, our representative will assist you with your transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco.

Please note: The Lima – Cusco domestic flight is not included in the package unless otherwise specified in your confirmed reservation.

During the flight, you may admire the dramatic change in scenery as Peru’s Pacific coastline gradually gives way to the majestic Andes Mountains.

Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals area, holding a sign with your name, to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your selected hotel.

At approximately 3,399 meters (11,152 feet) above sea level, Cusco offers incredible history, culture, and spectacular mountain scenery.

After check-in, we recommend taking time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or begin exploring the charming streets of Cusco at your own pace.

You can spend the afternoon walking through the Plaza de Armas, visiting the artistic neighborhood of San Blas, browsing local artisan shops, or relaxing in one of Cusco’s cafés.

In the evening, you may enjoy dinner at one of Cusco’s many restaurants and experience traditional Peruvian and Andean cuisine.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Cusco and travel in our private van for approximately 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo Train Station.

From Ollantaytambo, you will board your tourist train to Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Upon arrival, your professional guide will be waiting outside the train station with a sign displaying your name. Your guide will accompany you to the bus station.

From there, you will take an approximately 20-minute bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Your Machu Picchu entrance time and assigned circuit depend on ticket availability and must be confirmed as part of your final reservation.

During your guided walking tour, you will explore the archaeological site and have opportunities to take photographs at the stops permitted along your assigned circuit.

Because movement through Machu Picchu follows established visitor circuits, visitors must follow the route indicated by the guide and the circuit assigned to their entrance ticket.

After completing the guided visit, your guide will provide the necessary information for your return journey.

You will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes.

Once in town, you will have time to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants. Lunch is at your own expense.

Depending on your return train schedule, you should arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure.

The train journey from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, an Inti Sun Trek team member will be waiting with a sign and will accompany you to your private transportation.

You will travel approximately another 1.5 hours back to Cusco. Arrival at your accommodation may be around 10:00 p.m., depending on the assigned train schedule.

Overnight: Cusco.

Lunch: Not included.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., you will be picked up directly from your hotel in Cusco.

You will travel by private transportation toward Moray and the Maras Salt Mines.

You will visit both attractions accompanied by a private professional guide, who will explain their history, cultural importance, and principal features.

Please note: Entrance fees to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines are not included according to the original program.

Around midday, you will continue toward Mountain View for a special Llama Picnic surrounded by nature, beautiful Andean landscapes, and llamas.

During your picnic, you can select:

1 appetizer:

• Stuffed causa
• Vegetable salad with fresh fruits
• Pumpkin cream soup

1 main course:

• Lomo saltado with pisco
• Handmade pasta with valley mushrooms
• Trout with Andean tubers and huancaína sauce

1 dessert:

• Tiramisu
• Brownie with ice cream

After the picnic, your private transportation will take you directly back to your hotel in Cusco.

We will begin the day at approximately 3:30 a.m. with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco in our tourist transportation.

We will travel south of Cusco for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the restaurant, where you will enjoy a buffet breakfast.

After breakfast, we will continue traveling for a little over an hour toward the ATV starting area.

Upon arrival, your guide will provide a safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the ATV before beginning the adventure.

We will then begin the ATV journey toward Rainbow Mountain. The ATV section lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until reaching the final parking area.

From there, we will begin an approximately 40-minute walk to reach the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint.

Upon reaching the viewpoint, you will have time to admire the colorful landscape, take photographs and videos, and enjoy the spectacular high-Andean scenery.

After the visit, we will walk back along the same route to the parking area and return by ATV.

We will then board our tourist transportation and travel to the restaurant, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch.

After lunch, we will begin our return journey to Cusco. Arrival is estimated between approximately 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will prepare for your final day in Cusco.

The City Tour is subject to your flight departure time. If your flight schedule allows sufficient time to complete the excursion, you will meet your guide at approximately 9:00 a.m. in Cusco’s Plaza de Armas.

Your first visit will be Cusco Cathedral.

You will continue on foot through the Historic Center toward Qorikancha – the Temple of the Sun.

At Qorikancha, your guide will explain the contrast between Inca stonework and the later colonial architecture built over the site.

You will then continue toward Avenida El Sol, where you will board your transportation for the archaeological section of the tour.

Visit Sacsayhuamán, famous for its enormous stone blocks and impressive Inca architecture.

Continue toward:

• Qenqo – known for its carved stone structures and ceremonial spaces
• Puka Pukara – an Inca archaeological complex located above Cusco
• Tambomachay – an archaeological site associated with water and ceremonial fountains

After the final visit, you will return to Cusco.

Please note: Entrance fees for the Cusco City Tour sites are not specified as included in the program and must be confirmed as part of your final reservation.

Later, according to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Cusco Airport for your onward or return journey.

If your departure is earlier and does not allow enough time to complete the City Tour, your airport transfer will be coordinated according to your confirmed flight schedule.
