Welcome to Peru!

Upon your arrival in Lima, your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign displaying your name.

You will then be transferred comfortably to your selected hotel.

After check-in, you can relax, enjoy a refreshing shower, and recover from your international journey.

If you prefer, you may also explore nearby areas or enjoy Peru’s renowned gastronomy at your hotel or at one of the many restaurants in the city.

Optional Lima City Tour

Depending on your arrival time, you may join the Lima City Tour, available daily at approximately 8:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

During the tour, you will discover three important stages of Lima’s history: Ancestral, Colonial, and Modern Lima.

Highlights may include:

• Panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana
• Historic Center of Lima
• San Francisco Convent and Catacombs
• San Isidro
• Miraflores
• Central Reserve Bank Museum

Note: The Central Reserve Bank Museum is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

If you prefer not to join the City Tour, you may explore Miraflores independently, including Kennedy Park or Larcomar.

In the evening, you may choose to dine at one of Lima’s renowned restaurants. Advance reservations are recommended for high-demand restaurants.

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, our representative will assist you with your transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco.

Please note: The Lima – Cusco domestic flight is not included unless otherwise specified in your confirmed reservation.

Upon arrival at Cusco Airport, your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals area with a sign displaying your name.

You will then be transferred to your selected hotel.

Cusco is located at approximately 3,399 m / 11,152 ft above sea level.

After check-in, we recommend resting and allowing your body time to acclimatize.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or explore the city independently.

Suggested areas include:

• Plaza de Armas
• San Blas neighborhood
• Local artisan shops
• Cafés and restaurants

Overnight: Cusco.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will begin our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Our first visit will be Chinchero, known for its beautiful Andean landscapes, traditional streets, and ancestral textile techniques.

We will then continue to Moray, an impressive archaeological complex formed by circular agricultural terraces traditionally associated with Inca agricultural experimentation.

Next, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines, composed of hundreds of salt pools fed by a natural saltwater spring.

These salt terraces have been used since pre-Inca times and continue to be managed by local families.

We will continue to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Ollantaytambo.

Here, we will visit the archaeological complex and learn about its impressive Inca architecture, terraces, temples, and stonework.

After the visit, we will head to Ollantaytambo train station and board the train to Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and accompany you to your selected hotel.

Overnight: Aguas Calientes.
Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.

Today you will finally visit Machu Picchu, one of the most impressive archaeological destinations in the world.

From Aguas Calientes, you will take the bus directly to the entrance of the citadel.

The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.

Machu Picchu Entrance Time

Your entrance time depends on availability at the time of booking and the circuit assigned to your entrance ticket.

We recommend reviewing your entrance schedule in advance so you can arrive at the bus station with enough time.

Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Once inside the citadel, you will enjoy an approximately 2-hour guided tour.

During the visit, you will explore the areas permitted by your assigned circuit.

These may include:

• Temples
• Inca enclosures
• Agricultural terraces
• Ceremonial areas

Your guide will explain the history, architecture, culture, and engineering techniques developed by the Incas.

Return to Aguas Calientes

After the visit, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes.

You will have free time for lunch and to rest before heading to the train station.

Lunch is not included.

Please arrive at the station with enough time to board your train.

You will then travel by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, transportation will be waiting to take you by road back to your hotel in Cusco.

Optional Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain

You may add an entrance to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, subject to availability and advance purchase of the corresponding ticket.

These are separate attractions and require additional entrance tickets.

Today you will travel from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado.

Please note: The domestic airfare is not confirmed as included unless specifically stated in your reservation.

Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to the local office.

Any luggage that you will not need during your stay in the rainforest can be safely stored to make the jungle transportation easier.

Boat Transfer to Corto Maltes Amazonía

From the Capitanía Port, we will board a boat for the journey to Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.

The boat trip takes approximately 40 minutes along the Madre de Dios River.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink prepared with seasonal natural fruits.

Your guide will provide information about your stay and you will receive the keys to your bungalow.

Afterward, you will enjoy lunch and have some free time to rest.

Jungle Trail and Rubber Camp – 3:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, begin your first jungle experience accompanied by your guide.

During the approximately 2-hour walk, you will learn about:

• Tropical trees
• Medicinal plants
• Rainforest ecosystems
• Traditional rubber extraction

You will also visit a recreation of a traditional rubber camp and learn about the collection of natural rubber or latex.

Free Time

After returning to the lodge, you may relax at the swimming pool, rest in the hammocks on your bungalow terrace, enjoy a drink at the bar, request a massage, visit the handicraft shop, or enjoy the sunset from the river dock.

Caiman Safari – 7:00 p.m.

Before dinner, enjoy a nighttime boat excursion in search of caimans and other wildlife that may be active along the riverbanks.

Dinner – 8:00 p.m.

Dinner will be served in the lodge dining room.

Overnight: Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.
Meals included: Lunch and dinner.

Breakfast – 5:30 a.m.

Wake up early and enjoy hot coffee or tea before departing for Sandoval Lake.

Your guide will provide a packed breakfast to enjoy during the excursion.

Sandoval Lake – 6:00 a.m.

After approximately 20 minutes of navigation along the Madre de Dios River, we will arrive at the Sandoval Lake dock.

From here, we will begin an approximately 3 km walk through tropical forest inside the Tambopata National Reserve.

Along the way, depending on natural conditions, you may observe:

• Giant trees
• Monkeys
• Snakes
• Hoatzins
• Kingfishers
• Anhingas
• Other tropical birds

At Sandoval Lake, we will travel in small rowing boats in search of giant river otters and other wildlife.

When the guide finds a suitable location, you will enjoy breakfast surrounded by nature.

We will later return to the lodge.

Lunch – 1:30 p.m.

Lunch at Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.

Observation Tower and Brazil Nut Camp – 3:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, we will visit one of the lodge’s observation towers.

The lodge has towers measuring approximately 20 meters and 42 meters high.

The guide will select the most appropriate tower according to the group and operating conditions.

These towers are designed for birdwatching, wildlife observation, and panoramic views over the rainforest.

We will also visit a traditional Brazil nut camp and learn about this important economic activity in the Madre de Dios region.

Free Time

Afterward, enjoy free time at the lodge.

Dinner – 8:00 p.m.

Overnight: Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Parrot Clay Lick – 5:30 a.m.

Wake up early and enjoy hot coffee or tea before beginning an approximately 20-minute walk to the parrot clay lick.

Depending on natural conditions, you may observe several species of parrots descending to feed on mineral-rich clay.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed because they depend on natural conditions.

Breakfast and Free Time – 8:00 a.m.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and some free time.

Return to Puerto Maldonado

After breakfast, we will travel by boat back to the city of Puerto Maldonado.

At the Capitanía Port, transportation will be waiting to take you to the local office.

Visit to the Local Market

Before continuing to the airport, we will make a short visit of approximately 15 to 20 minutes to the local market.

Here you will see a variety of regional products used by the local population.

After the visit, we will continue to Puerto Maldonado Airport for check-in for your flight.
