Welcome to Peru! We know how exhausting international flights can be, so upon your arrival in the Peruvian capital, we will make your arrival as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you at Lima Airport, holding a sign with your name, to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your selected hotel.

After checking in, you can take time to relax, enjoy a refreshing shower, and recover from your journey. If you prefer, you may also explore nearby areas or enjoy Peru’s renowned gastronomy with lunch at your hotel or at one of the many excellent local restaurants. Meals are not included on this day.

Depending on your arrival time, you also have the option to join the Lima City Tour, available daily at 8:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

During the tour, you will explore three stages of Lima’s history: Ancestral, Colonial, and Modern Lima. Highlights include a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, the Historic Center of Lima with its impressive colonial architecture, the San Francisco Convent and Catacombs, and the modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores.

The tour also includes a visit to the Central Reserve Bank Museum, where you can admire a collection of pre-Columbian gold, ceramics, and textiles.

Note: The Central Reserve Bank Museum is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

If you prefer not to join the City Tour, you can explore Lima at your own pace by visiting Miraflores, one of the city’s most popular tourist districts. You may enjoy a walk through Kennedy Park or visit Larcomar, located along the Pacific coast.

In the evening, we recommend enjoying dinner at Central or Maido. Due to high demand, advance reservations are highly recommended.

Today, your adventure in the Andean highlands begins.

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, our representative will assist you with your transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco.

Please note: The Lima – Cusco domestic flight is not included unless otherwise specified in your confirmed reservation.

During the flight, you may admire the dramatic change in scenery as Peru’s Pacific coastline gradually gives way to the majestic Andes Mountains.

Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, your Inti Sun Trek representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals area, holding a sign with your name, to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your selected hotel.

You will have time to settle in and begin acclimatizing to Cusco’s altitude.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., your guide will meet you at Cusco’s Plaza de Armas to begin your City Tour.

The tour begins in Cusco’s Historic Center, where you will appreciate the Plaza de Armas and its impressive colonial architecture built over Inca foundations.

You will also visit Qorikancha – the Temple of the Sun, one of the most important religious centers of the Inca civilization.

Afterward, we will continue toward the archaeological sites located above the city.

Your first stop will be Sacsayhuamán, an impressive Inca complex famous for its enormous stone walls and panoramic views of Cusco.

The tour continues with visits to:

• Qenqo – an archaeological site associated with ceremonial spaces and carved stone structures
• Puka Pukara – an Inca archaeological complex located above Cusco
• Tambomachay – a site associated with water channels and ceremonial fountains

At the end of the tour, we will return to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas. You can then enjoy a relaxing evening and have dinner at one of Cusco’s local restaurants.

After breakfast at your hotel, your day begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco.

We will travel toward the Sacred Valley, where you will spend the first part of the day exploring important cultural and archaeological areas.

Your first stop will be Chinchero, a traditional Andean village known for its Inca terraces, colonial-era buildings, and textile traditions.

You will have the opportunity to observe local weaving techniques and learn about the traditional process used to prepare, dye, and produce handmade textiles.

We will then continue toward Urubamba, one of the main towns of the Sacred Valley.

From there, we will continue to the ancient Inca town of Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo preserves streets, buildings, and an urban layout that reflects its Inca origins.

You will have time to appreciate the central plaza, surrounding archaeological remains, and traditional architecture.

Afterward, we will continue across the Andes through the Málaga Pass and descend toward Santa María.

According to the itinerary, you will arrive in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, continue with a hike along an ancient Inca trail toward your lodge in the Santa Teresa jungle area.

After reaching the lodge, enjoy dinner and relax surrounded by the sounds of the subtropical forest.

After an early wake-up and breakfast at the lodge, we will travel by vehicle toward the beginning of the Llactapata Inca Trail.

From here, we will begin our walk toward a local coffee farm.

During the coffee farm experience, you will learn about coffee cultivation, production methods, and the importance of coffee to the local economy of the Santa Teresa region.

After enjoying local coffee, we will continue uphill toward Llactapata Pass.

After approximately 2 to 3 hours of hiking, you will reach the pass at around 2,700 meters / 8,900 feet above sea level.

From this point, you can enjoy a distinctive southwest view toward Machu Picchu.

You will also explore the archaeological remains of Llactapata.

Afterward, enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning the descent toward the Aobamba River.

The descent takes approximately 2 to 3 hours and passes through bamboo forest, orchids, coffee plantations, and lush vegetation.

After completing the hike, you may have the option to visit local hot springs or relax at the lodge. Any hot springs visit is optional unless specifically confirmed in your reservation.

Today is the day you will visit Machu Picchu.

You will continue from the Santa Teresa area toward Aguas Calientes according to the operational transportation arrangements confirmed for your departure.

Important: The original itinerary does not specify the exact transportation sequence between Santa Teresa and Aguas Calientes. This segment must therefore be confirmed as part of your final travel arrangements.

Upon reaching Aguas Calientes, you will take the bus directly to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

The journey takes approximately 25 minutes, and the bus ticket is included in the tour.

Buses depart from Aguas Calientes and take you directly to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu Entrance & Circuit

Your package includes entrance to Machu Picchu according to the regulations described at the beginning of this itinerary.

Priority is given to Circuit 2. If Circuit 2 is unavailable for your travel date, entrance will be arranged through Circuit 3 or Circuit 1, according to official availability.

Your confirmed entrance time and circuit will be provided before your visit.

Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Once inside Machu Picchu, you will enjoy a guided tour lasting approximately 2 hours.

During the tour, you will visit the areas permitted by your assigned circuit, which may include temples, Inca enclosures, agricultural terraces, and ceremonial areas.

Your guide will share the history of Machu Picchu and explain its architecture, culture, and the extraordinary engineering techniques developed by the Incas.

Return to Aguas Calientes

At the end of your visit, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes.

Once in town, you will have free time for lunch and to rest before heading to the train station. Lunch is not included.

Please arrive at the station with enough time to board your return train.

You will then board the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, private transportation will be waiting to take you by road back to your hotel in Cusco.

Would You Like to Visit Huayna Picchu?

You can also add the hike to Huayna Picchu, provided there is availability and you have purchased the corresponding ticket in advance.

Entrance times depend on the ticket purchased and must be coordinated with your Machu Picchu entrance schedule.

Important: Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Machu Picchu Mountain are different attractions. Entrance to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain requires an additional ticket and is subject to availability.

If you would like to include Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain in your experience, please let us know in advance so we can check ticket availability.

Your day will begin with an early pickup from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.

Our transportation will take you south of Cusco to the town of Cusipata. The transfer lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Upon arrival in Cusipata, we will have breakfast.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey toward Rainbow Mountain for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Along the way, you will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful high-Andean landscapes and observe local wildlife.

We will begin our adventure with an uphill hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, with snow-capped mountains and spectacular scenery in the background.

Finally, we will reach the viewpoint, where you will be able to appreciate the natural colors of Rainbow Mountain and the surrounding landscape.

After visiting the viewpoint and taking photographs, we will return along the same route with an approximately 1.5-hour hike.

We will then enjoy lunch before beginning the drive back to Cusco, arriving approximately between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.

As an alternative, you may choose the Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Hike.

Today is your final day in Peru.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have time to prepare for your departure.

At the previously coordinated time, our representative will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Cusco Airport for your onward or return journey.

You may also choose to extend your stay in Peru.
