Terms and Conditions
When making a reservation with us, it is important to fully read and understand the following information:
We operate in regions where standards of accommodation, transport and services might not be to the standard you are used to in your home country. However, we strive with all due care and skill to provide the best services for our tourists possible.
Travelling in Peru requires flexibility, patience, open-mindedness, a good sense of humor, and understanding that changes may be made without notice due to circumstances beyond our control. By booking any of our tours you agree to any necessary changes that may be required.
In extreme cases such as riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, disease, disasters, adverse weather conditions, or fire, Inti Sun Trek will not accept any liability for these events and reserves the right to change, postpone, or even cancel the trip if necessary (this is the last option of course).
Travel Insurance: We strongly advise you to purchase travel insurance that covers accidents, medical expenses and emergency services, including rescue and air ambulance. We also recommend that it covers cancellations and loss of luggage. Please forward a copy/policy number to our offices upon booking a trek with us.
Strikes in Peru: A popular way for the people in Peru to communicate unhappiness with the government is to strike. This area sees quite a few strikes a year that can sometimes affect the logistics involved in our tours. Most strikes are well organized and planned in advance so the office will have at least a few hours to make arrangements if needed.
Changes for logistics: Often this involves leaving for your trek the night before. Please understand we will do everything we can to get you to and from the trail and will give you the information you need as soon as we have it. We will always get you to and from the trail very safely.
Risks: By booking any of our adventure trips (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquekirau, Lares treks, etc.) you assume the risks associated with them. For these Inti Sun Trek accepts no responsibility.
You must let us know when you book the trek if you have any medical conditions that could affect your ability to do the trek. This information will help us plan the trek for your safety.
Due to the nature of the remote geographic location of the trails and the lack of suitable nearby medical facilities along the trails, Inti Sun Trek will not accept any responsibility, either directly or indirectly, for any problems due to your special dietary requirements or medical condition. We suggest that you check with your doctor before booking the trek.
Environmental Impact: We use biodegradable soap and transport all our garbage back to Cusco. Our porters are trained to look after the trail and pick up any waste from other groups as well. We also use environmentally-friendly chemical portable toilets that allow us to pack waste out. We believe in leaving no footprint behind.
The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. After purchasing the ticket, we cannot change the date of trek departure or change the name or passport number on your Machu Picchu entrance ticket.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TREKS AND SMALL TOURS
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to info@intisuntrek.com. If you wish to cancel within eight weeks of your tour start date, further payment is needed as follows:
In the event you cancel your trip
If you cancel between 30 and 10 days before your trek, you must pay 50% of the total cost.
If you cancel between 10 and 3 days before your trek, you must pay 80% of the total cost.
If you cancel one day before your trek, you must pay 100% of the total cost.
We charge these fees because there are a great deal of expenses that Inti Sun pays to set up these tours. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions. We would be happy to supply a letter for your insurance company to help recover some of the cost.
In the exceptional case that you decide to head back once you have started the trail, we cannot reimburse any of your final payments. Unfortunately you will be responsible for all the extra expenses that occur during your transportation to the nearest town or Cusco for example food and transportation. If you want, you may join the group in Machupicchu for the walking tour and use all of the services onward. If so, we can help you buy a new train ticket to Aguas Calientes and bus ticket to Machu Pîcchu
