The Ministry of Commerce and Tourism announced legislation (Legislative Decree No. 1507) which “authorizes free access for public servants, children, adolescents and senior citizens to archaeological sites, museums, historical places and natural areas in the country.” This applies to both Peruvians and foreigners.
The law provides that this group of people may visit, from July 1 to December 31, 2020, a total of 55 cultural sites and 22 natural protected areas, including the archaeological park of Machu Picchu and the network of Inca Paths.
